Produce Lead - FT
Position Summary
Assists with the coordination and execution of Produce department operations, including ordering and inventory control. Cleans, trims, packages, processes, rotates and stocks produce. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities

- Orders produce according to anticipated sales and seasonal needs. Maintains appropriate inventory levels to achieve sales and margin goals.
- Guides the work of department clerks, including planning and assigning work, ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity.
- Partners with store management team to maintain excellent department conditions, including appearance, cleanliness, signage, staffing and service levels.
- Assists customers with product selection. Shares product knowledge with customers. Makes recommendations and suggestions based on customer needs.
- Works with Store Management to understand and respond to current store trends.
- Builds displays and arranges department products to make attractive presentations, highlighting featured/unique/seasonal items.
- Complies with all company organic standards.
- Maintains professional vendor relationships.
Additional Position-Specific Responsibilities
- Completes customer special orders thoroughly and provides follow-through as needed.
- Stocks and rotates products with attention to product quality and expiration dates.
- Cleans, trims, packages, prices, rotates and stocks produce department products.
- Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of products throughout the department and understanding of culinary terminology, product labeling and common dietary restrictions.
- Follows company procedures for processing invoices, transfers and credits.
- Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
- Maintains the organization, rotation and cleanliness of back stock areas.
- May participate in other activities, such as inventories.
- Responds to and follows through on emails and other communications in a timely manner.
- Notifies Manager On Duty of any situations relating to customer service, safety, productivity, security or any other situation that may have an adverse effect on the store.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Engages the customer in a friendly manner, shares product information and assists in locating product throughout the store. Seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience.
- Adapts service based on customer needs, handles difficult customer situations and seeks solutions to delight the customer.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- Valid Food Handlers Certification or must acquire within 30 days of hire.
- Previous food service, retail or grocery experience required.
- Previous produce experience in a retail, farm or distribution environment preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous ordering/inventory management experience preferred

Assistant Meat & Seafood Manager - FT
Position Summary
Responsible for supporting the Meat & Seafood Manager in performing quality inspections, using meat grinders, knives, saws, and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and package cuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching. This position will speak to customers to determine their needs, provide advice regarding proper cuts of meat and preparation methods, and coordinate pickups or deliveries. The Assistant Meat & Seafood Manager will help provide coaching, feedback and performance management for all staff in the Meat & Seafood Department.

- Provides exceptional customer service through informing, listening and engaging with customers
- Handles customer queries and complaints
- Inspects, cuts and prepares meats for displays and/or packaging
- Recruits, trains, supervises and appraises staff
- Helps manage budgets
- Maintains accurate records (inventory, orders, financial, food safety, sanitation)
- Oversees pricing and stock control
- Ensures compliance with health and safety requirements
- Assists in maintaining retail expectations, back room conditions and ensuring a positive and safe customer and employee experience
- At times, supports any other departments within the store including Deli, Grocery, Cashiering and Produce
Education and Qualification Requirements
- GED or equivalent High School Diploma, college degree preferred
- 2 years retail Meat & Seafood Department experience
- Prior lead, supervisor or manager experience
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to work and communicate well on a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
