    The Sous Chef contributes to the mission of Basics market by assisting with the coordination and execution of the production of Prepared Foods products. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Prepares products for Basics market customers, system wide or locations, based on seasonal menus and recipes.
    • Assists Deli Manager with the planning and execution of the production of Prepared Foods products. Follows company provided recipes and specifications in order to ensure accuracy and consistency.
    • Stays informed of product schedules and reproduces product to specification.
    • Helps the Deli Manager onboard and orient new staff while assisting with training.
    • Ensures compliance with respect to food safety, sanitation and cleanliness while maintaining clean and organized auxiliary and work areas, stations, equipment and surfaces.
    • Maintains and ensures correct temperature for food ingredients throughout the processes of harvesting, receiving, cooking, holding, serving, and storing while completing required documentation of such.
    • Guides the work of cooks and prep cook/dishwashers, including planning and assigning work, ensuring quality standards, and overseeing productivity.
    • Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays and events. Assists Deli Manager with planning production using tools and reports.

  • Maintenance Technician I/II

    The Maintenance Technician works closely with the engineering team to address and resolve Basics’ equipment and manufacturing obstacles and mechanical/electrical problems. Performs routine preventive maintenance while minimizing store and equipment downtime. Provides maintenance support for other facilities as needed.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Primary role is to provide technical and maintenance support to the Basics’ team.
    • Secondary roles include but not limited to troubleshoot problems and eliminate manufacturing constraints in all other entities across Wild Rose Foods.
    • Utilize technical skills and knowledge in electrical/electronics (PLCs, A/C and D/C motors and drives, control logic, schematics and troubleshooting) to support continuous process manufacturing and achieve machine uptime metrics.
    • Maintain necessary parts and maintenance supplies in an organized manner.
    • Implement and document plant preventative maintenance.
    • Demonstrate high level of safety focus and awareness via maintenance actions and support within the facility.
    • Establish positive rapport and provide proactive customer service to all production employees and the operations team.
    • Attention to detail in completing work tasks, cooperative attitude and being reliable and responsible.
    • Supports QA department to ensure implementation of maintenance procedures to protect food product.
    • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of farm equipment.
    • Ensure all processes, procedures and maintenance work and equipment are compliant with state and federal regulations.
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during scheduled downtime.
    • Maintain electronic records on all maintenance, repairs to machines, and inventory of equipment and facility.

    The Retail Clerk is responsible for building connections with the public and interested in the local food economy, nutrition and building their retail work experience. The position will focus on assisting our customers by providing information about products, answering customer questions, and supporting our various departments within the location. Utilize previous retail experience along with a commitment to providing customers with an exceptional service experience.

    Facilities, Sanitation, Work Safety and Food Safety Responsibilities

    • Adheres to work and food safety policies set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.
    • Performs janitorial tasks in compliance with sanitation standards established by store policy and state and local health departments. Contributes to store cleanliness.
    • Maintains equipment, informs store/department management of any problems.
    • Reports all safety concerns and work-related injuries to management.
    • Frequent handwashing is required.

    Education and Qualification Requirements

    • GED or equivalent High School Diploma, college degree preferred.
    • 1-year retail experience.
    • Valid Food Handlers Certification or must acquire within 30 days of hire.

    Duties performed are in grocery store environment, which includes surfaces that can be wet and slippery and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler, and also outdoor exposure. The noise level is usually moderate. This role may be exposed to dust, mold, gluten, fragrances and other fumes and airborne particles, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants, and flowers; also requires use of – and working in proximity to – common commercial cleaning agents. This position may be required to use knives, box cutters, slicer, scale, temp gun, cart, hand truck, dishwasher, pallet jack, computer, and office equipment. This position may also be working on or around moving machinery or moving parts.
