    Job Description


    Position Summary

    Our company is looking for a retail associate who enjoys building connections with the public and is interested in the local food economy, nutrition and building their retail work experience.  The position will be focused on assisting our customers by providing information about our meat products, answering customer questions, cutting, grinding and displaying products and supporting our various departments within the location.  An ideal candidate will have previous retail and meat department experience along with a commitment to providing customers with an exceptional service experience. If you are offered employment, the conditional offer of employment is contingent upon obtaining a mandatory pre-employment background check/consumer report and successfully passing a drug screen. These must be completed before your first working day.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Provide exceptional customer service through informing, listening and engaging with our customers.
    • Will use meat grinders, knives, saws, and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and package cuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching.
    • Assist in maintaining retail floor, exterior property and back room conditions, ensuring a positive and safe customer experience.
    • Working in and supporting all departments within the store including Meat, Grocery, Cashiering, Produce and Café.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized department and sales floor.
    • Building and taking down displays, product rotation and receiving.
    • Following all food and work safety guidelines

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    1. GED or equivalent High School Diploma
    2. 1 year retail and meat department experience
    3. Experience with butchering and processing meat
    4. Ability to work weekends and holidays
    5. Ability to work and communicate well on a team
    6. Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Driver-Merchandiser

    Job Title:  Driver/Merchandiser

    Job Description


    Position Summary

    We’re looking for a Driver who is energetic, personable and safe. You must enjoy meeting people and be deeply familiar with area nuances, such as back roads and traffic patterns. We provide the vehicle, but you should have a clean background check/driving record and driver’s license. The Delivery Driver must be able to lift packages up to 70 pounds and bend and twist as necessary. Drivers will work varied hours and occasional extended hours. Drivers will also be expected to work in the warehouse, picking orders and provide our stores with merchandising support.  Weekend hours may be necessary, especially around holidays.  If you are offered employment, the conditional offer of employment is contingent upon obtaining a mandatory pre-employment background check/consumer report and successfully passing a drug screen.  These must be completed before your first working day.

    Driver responsibilities

    • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
    • Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
    • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
    • Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver packages to customers on time
    • Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
    • Execute merchandising needs within Basics locations as directed
    • Work occasional evenings and weekends
    • Complete daily maintenance checks on delivery van and notify manager of any issues
    • Drive in inclement weather, such as light snow
    • Maintain electronic logs to track routes and deliveries
    • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
    • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.

    Experience

    • Minimum of one year driving experience within 30-mile radius of store
    • Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
    • Strength to lift up to 70 pounds plus bending and twisting
    • Work well independently
    • Open and transparent communication
    • Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps
    • Valid driver’s license issued by the state where you intend to work.
    • Clean driving record.
    • Special licenses may be required to operate certain vehicles.
