  • Data & Pricing Specialist

    The position of Pricing and Data Specialist is responsible for helping establish processes around and manage the data as outputted by the Buyers/Merchandises (Merchandising Support) and working with IT to manage POS output at store level.  This includes oversight of data input and control for item attributes, cost, link codes, retail, and supplier profiles. The person is also responsible for promotional input, vendor funding data, and merchandising analytics.  They will work directly with the merchandising team to enable decisions that lead to a better customer experience in our stores and achieve our financial objectives.

     

    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Works closely with the merchandising staff to ensure timely and accurate input of pricing and information into DMA.
    • Processes new items for Buyers/Merchandisers. Ensures accuracy of all data and compliance to company guidelines and price strategies.
    • Ensures Merchandisers/Buyers are working to submit all item maintenance per the DMA batching schedule.
    • Processes cost changes from suppliers and establishes retails based on pricing rules to ensure gross margin targets are achieved. Alerts Sales Managers when cost changes exceed tolerance or when items are on competitive KVI list.
    • Processes input files from major suppliers based on Buyer/Merchandiser assignment. These files may include cost changes, item maintenance, promotional offers, or new items.
    • Reviews all input files prior to upload to DMA. Works with Buyers/Merchandisers to correct errors and omissions.
    • Reviews promotional data files to ensure price strategies and rules are adhered to. Alerts Buyers when items are out of gross margin target.
    • Manage Retails/Costs by department.  Works with President of Basics to manage price optimization rules, price zones, target margins, and promotional pricing.
    • Assist with implementation of additional systems and tools which will help us to make data driven decisions, optimize our efficiencies, and position the company for growth as it relates to cost and retail.
    • Helps to manage other product information including descriptions, sign text, attributes, item links, tax, deposit, and category / subcategory assignment.
    • Ensure data entry and necessary work is completed on time.

     

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • The candidate should have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    • This person should be achievement oriented with strong communication, organization, and management skills.
    • They should be able to manage projects and gain alignment across functional areas.
    • Able to give attention to detail, clearly establish priorities, and operate with a sense of urgency.
    • This person must have 5 years equivalent experience in grocery or other comparable retail environment, Knowledge of the natural/organic/specialty food trade is desired.

    Job Description

    Eligible candidates are those individuals who enjoy building connections with the public and are interested in the local food economy, nutrition, and building on their established culinary experience.  The position is focused on collaborative operations and production for market resale foods for the Basics market system. The Commissary Cook contributes to the mission of Basics market by planning, preparing and recipe testing while working directly with customers and staff for the service and cookery of seasonal food products.

     

    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Prepares products for Basics market customers, system wide or locations, based on seasonal menus and recipes.
    • Stays informed of product schedules and reproduces product to specification.
    • Helps the commissary operations manager onboard and orient new staff while assisting with training.
    • Ensures compliance with respect to food safety, sanitation and cleanliness while maintaining clean and organized auxiliary and work areas, stations, equipment and surfaces.
    • Maintains and ensures correct temperature for food ingredients throughout the processes of harvesting, receiving, cooking, holding, serving, and storing while completing required documentation of such.
    • Works as a member of the Basics team to achieve market sales goals.
    • Models and maintains customer service, code of conduct, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Executes additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
    • Completes required administrative duties in a timely fashion; HACCP controls, sanitation records time worked, accurately and according to Basics policy.
    • Ability to interact successfully with the general public.

    Position Summary:

    This position requires a demeanor that is energetic, personable and consistently operates safely. You must enjoy meeting people and be deeply familiar with area nuances, such as back roads and traffic patterns. Drivers will work varied hours and occasional extended hours. Drivers will also be expected to work in the warehouse, picking orders and provide our stores with merchandising support. Weekend hours may be necessary, especially around holidays.

    Schedule: Part Time: M-F from 4am to 8am

    Driver responsibilities:

    Position Summary: The maintenance technician works closely with the engineering team to address and resolve equipment and manufacturing obstacles and mechanical/electrical problems. Performs routine preventive maintenance while minimizing line downtime.

    Essential Functions

    • Utilize technical skills and knowledge in electrical/electronics (PLCs, A/C and D/C motors and drives, control logic, schematics and troubleshooting) to support continuous process manufacturing and achieve machine uptime metrics.
