    This position will be focused on the operation of the Prepared Foods Department, assisting our customers by providing information about our products, assisting in food production, answering customer questions and supporting our various departments within the location.   • Market Cook II (Hillsdale Location)

    The Market Cook II enjoys building connections with the public and are interested in the local food economy, nutrition, and building on their established culinary experience. The position is focused on collaborative operations and production for market resale foods for the Basics market system. The Market Cook II contributes to the mission of Basics market by planning, preparing and recipe testing while working directly with customers and staff for the service and cookery of seasonal food products.

    • Prepares products for Basics’ customers, system wide or locations, based on seasonal menus and recipes.
    • Keeps managers informed of low or out products.
    • Acts as the PIC in the absence of the Sous Chef and Lead.
    • Execute daily tasks list and write a daily production list in the absence of the Sous Chef and Lead.
    • Helps Sous Chef and Lead create hot bar menu items, deli case menu items and specials.
    • Stays informed of product schedules and reproduces product to specification.
    • Helps management team implement SOP’s into the department.
    • Helps the Market Chef onboard and orient new staff while assisting with training.
    • Ensures compliance with respect to food safety, sanitation and cleanliness while maintaining clean and organized auxiliary and work areas, stations, equipment and surfaces.
    • Maintains and ensures correct temperature for food ingredients throughout the processes of harvesting, receiving, cooking, holding, serving, and storing while completing required documentation of such.
    • Works as a member of the Basics’ team to achieve market sales goals.
    • Ability to prepare concoctions; pour and serve non-alcohol beverages, soda, water, coffee, teas, and other products to Basics market customers and staff.
    • Models and maintains customer service, code of conduct, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the performance of assigned duties.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • 2 years industry-related experience.
    • Ability to distinguish and articulate differences or similarities in intensity and quality of flavors or aromas, and able to identify flavors or aromas through taste and smell.
    • Ability to use hands to chop, whisk, slice, stir, juice and demonstrate cooking techniques.
    • Ability to interact successfully with the general public.

  • Maintenance Technician

    The Maintenance Technician works closely with the engineering team to address and resolve Basics’ equipment and manufacturing obstacles and mechanical/electrical problems. Performs routine preventive maintenance while minimizing store and equipment downtime. Provides maintenance support for other facilities as needed.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Primary role is to provide technical and maintenance support to the Basics’ team.
    • Secondary roles include but not limited to troubleshoot problems and eliminate manufacturing constraints in all other entities across Wild Rose Foods.
    • Utilize technical skills and knowledge in electrical/electronics (PLCs, A/C and D/C motors and drives, control logic, schematics and troubleshooting) to support continuous process manufacturing and achieve machine uptime metrics.
    • Maintain necessary parts and maintenance supplies in an organized manner.
    • Implement and document plant preventative maintenance.
    • Demonstrate high level of safety focus and awareness via maintenance actions and support within the facility.
    • Establish positive rapport and provide proactive customer service to all production employees and the operations team.
    • Attention to detail in completing work tasks, cooperative attitude and being reliable and responsible.
    • Supports QA department to ensure implementation of maintenance procedures to protect food product.
    • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of farm equipment.
    • Ensure all processes, procedures and maintenance work and equipment are compliant with state and federal regulations.
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during scheduled downtime.
    • Maintain electronic records on all maintenance, repairs to machines, and inventory of equipment and facility.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
    • Subject to “on call” depending upon the urgency of the situation.

     

    Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    1. GED or equivalent high school diploma.
    2. Experience in understanding technical specifications and schematics.
    3. Minimum 2 years of previous plant maintenance experience working with electrical and mechanical equipment.
    4. Ability to work weekends and holidays.
    5. Ability to work and communicate well on a team.
    6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    7. Intermediate computer skills preferred on programs such as Outlook, Word, and a CMMS.
