Meat Cutter (FT)
Position Summary
This position will be focused on overseeing all operational aspects of our Meat Market, assisting our customers by providing information about our products, assisting in food production, meat cutting and processing, answering customer questions and supporting our various departments within the location. Also responsible for building connections with the public and is interested in the local food economy, nutrition and developing their retail leadership work experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
General

- Cuts and prepares all varieties and cuts of meat while operating tools safely.
- Contributes to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Demonstrates an adaptable and flexible work style, shifting tasks as priorities and circumstances change.
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task and manage own time. Adjusts priorities, productivity, efficiency and speed based on needs and conditions of department.

Customer Service

- Engages the customer in a friendly manner, shares product information and assists in locating product throughout the store. Seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience.
- Adapts service based on customer needs, handles difficult customer situations and seeks solutions to delight the customer.
Additional Position-Specific Responsibilities

- Completes customer special orders thoroughly and provides follow-through as needed.
- Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of products throughout the department and understanding of culinary skills and terminology, product labeling and common dietary restrictions.
- Follows company procedures for processing invoices, transfers and credits.
- Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
- Maintains the organization, rotation and cleanliness of customer facing and back stock areas.
- Leads other department activities, such as inventories.
- Responds to and follows through on emails and other communications in a timely manner.
Education and Qualification Requirements

- GED or equivalent High School Diploma, college degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of Meat Department and meat cutting experience.
- Valid Food Handlers Certification or must acquire within 30 days of hire.
- Previous ordering/inventory management experience preferred.

Produce Clerk (PT)
This position is anticipated to work 24 hours/week
Position Summary
Responsible for building connections with the public. The position will focus on assisting our customers by providing information about produce and other products, answering customer questions, and supporting our various departments within the location. Utilize previous retail experience along with a commitment to providing customers with an exceptional service experience.
Primary Responsibilities

- Provides exceptional customer service through sampling, informing, listening and engaging with our customers.
- Assists in maintaining retail floor, exterior property and back room conditions, ensuring a positive and safe customer experience.
- Works in and supports all departments within the store including Cashiering, Grocery, etc.
- Maintains a clean and organized sales floor.
- Builds and takes down displays, product rotation and receiving.
- Follows all food and work safety guidelines.

Assistant Deli Manager (FT)
Position Summary
Assist with the coordination and execution of Prepared Foods department operations and work. Prepares, stocks, cuts, weighs and wraps department products. Assists the Deli Manager in leading the Prepared Foods department and staff including hiring, training, and performance management.

- Supports the Deli Manager to ensure smooth operation of the Prepared Foods Team.
- Works with Deli Manager to train and coach team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
- Opens and closes department according to established procedures.
- Assists with food preparation and production.
- Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members always. Seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience.
- Partners with department management to maintain excellent department conditions. Ensures all areas of department are stocked, rotated, faced, and adhere to merchandising standards and category schematics.
- Adheres to work and food safety policies set forth by the company and all local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task and manage own time. Shifts tasks as priorities and circumstances change based on needs and conditions of department.
- Merchandises and maintains Prepared Foods case and stations.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 2 years’ industry-related experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of retail grocery Prepared Foods, Deli or food production department required.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Ability to distinguish and articulate differences or similarities in intensity and quality of flavors or aromas, and able to identify flavors or aromas through taste and smell.
- Ability to use hands to chop, whisk, slice, stir, juice and demonstrate cooking techniques.
- Valid Food Handlers Certification or must acquire within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to move about workspace settings, store facilities, general workplace and other assigned work areas that may be on or off Basics premises to prepare foods.
- Ability to work with the tools and equipment used, such as (not an all-inclusive list): industrial kitchen equipment (i.e., blast chiller, grill, knives/blades, oven, grills, scales, etc.), POS, baler, hand truck, basic housekeeping/janitorial and standard office equipment.
- Must have working knowledge, skill, dexterity or means to work with scales, labeling, merchandise scanners or ability to master new equipment for the purpose of transacting with customers to accomplish work.

- Culinary Diplomas.
